Guidelines

Criteria for abstract acceptance

a) After successful submission of your abstract you will receive an automatic confirmation by e-mail.

b) The reviewers will judge the abstracts according to their relevance to the APSPGHAN academy. They will assess the standard of English, objectivity of statements, description of the work, suitability of methods to aims, conclusions confirmed by objective results, ethics, scientific value, potential clinical value, originality of work and overall impression.

c) The submitting author will be notified from Jan 5, 2026 onwards whether the abstract has been accepted. Notifications will be sent via email to the email address of the abstract submitter provided (corresponding to person who submits the abstract) during the online submission. It is the submitter’s responsibility to ensure that emails from apspghanacademy@gmail.com and from the submission tool can reach them. In the notification, authors and submitters will be informed of the date, time and form of their presentation.

General rules

  • To access the abstract submission system, you need to create a username

  • Submission abstracts for review is governed by the following rules established by the scientific committee of the Congress.

  • Submitted abstracts should not have been published previously in full, although previous publication of the abstract after  presentation at the national or major conferences (e.g. ESPGHAN, NASPGHAN and ECCO annual meetings) is acceptable.

  • Case reports should be submitted only if they provide novelty.

  • Abstracts must be received only via online submission by the deadline. Photocopies, facsimile, or email copies will not be accepted and will be discarded.

  • Submitters must be registered to the APSPGHAN Academy no later than 2 weeks after acceptance notification.

  • Able to save draft and edit after submission until November 30, 2025.

Preparing and submitting your abstract

Preparing your abstract for submission includes several key elements.

Title

The title should clearly identify the contents of the abstract. Capitalize the whole title and write it on the specific field of the online form (e.g., INFLAMMATORY BOWEL DISEASE).

Authors and Affiliations

  • Each author is entered separately.

  • Each name is entered by completing fields for first (given), middle initial(s) and last (family) name. Capital letter should be used for first name and surname (e.g. John Smith).

  • First names should be complete and not just given as an initial. You should provide information on each author’s institution/affiliation, city and country. Affiliation must be capitalized.

  • The presenting author must be indicated by ticking the specific box.

Abstract text

The text must meet the following requirements:

The text of each abstract should consist of no more than 300 words.

The language must be English and the text should be single-spaced, using Times New Roman 12-point font. There should be no blank lines between paragraphs. Simple or standard symbols (such as < or > ) may be used, but if they do not transcribe correctly on the submission, they must be written in their extended form (e.g., 'β' must be written as 'beta').

Type of Abstracts

During the abstract submission process, it will be possible to indicate a preference for the presentation format of the work, namely. The assignment of the specific presentation format will be at the discretion of the evaluation committee.

Graphics and Tables

It is allowed to include one graphic or table. It may be in .jpeg or .jpg format and should be uploaded in the designated file.

Code

A code number will be associated with your abstract. Please keep it for any communications.

Submission

Abstracts may only be submitted through the online system.
Abstracts that do not comply with these rules will not be eligible for selection.
